Caritas Stavanger is the Catholic Church’s aid organization, located in the heart of Stavanger! We are here to help immigrants and others who need it. Caritas Stavanger is neutral with regard to religion/beliefs and political views.
The organisation opened its doors in 2015, and was run solely by volunteers until 2016.
We work to encourage integration through language training, assistance when applying for jobs, and help navigating different government agencies (NAV, kommune etc.). Our guidance service is free, and your information is protected by duty of confidentiality.
The organisation is growing, and is constantly developing. In 2018 we opened Caritas Stavanger Au Pair center, in partnership with Caritas Norge, and with funding from UDI.
Are you an au pair, new to Norway, unemployed or just need someone to talk to? Caritas Stavanger can help you find the answers to your questions.
Caritas Stavanger can help you if you need help to write a CV or an application letter, or if you would like to contact NAV, the tax authorities (Skatteetaten), the municipality (kommune) or others. We can also help au pairs with issues they encounter here in Norway, and additionally we arrange social activities for au pairs.
WANT TO JOIN US IN THE WORK THAT WE DO?
We are always in need of new volunteers for our projects. If you are interest in teaching Norwegian courses, providing information to immigrants, or help at the au pair center, please get in touch!
You can also find us at Frivillig.no!
Due to the covid-19 virus we do not offer activities right now.
However, we are planning on starting up all our activities as soon as possible. That means that we will need more volunteers! Please do not hesitate to contact us!
